By JULIE HAVERMAN Courier-Post Staff Time is running out to get your sweetie something special for Valentine's Day. Maybe you're low on cash or just running low on ideas. Here are a few things to think over before the clock strikes midnight... Sometimes what you give isn't as important as who else sees the goods. Whether you've got chocolate, flowers, lunch or a sappy stuffed animal, swing by your significant other's workplace and drop it off. An afternoon of "ohhh, what a nice guy" and "that's so sweet" will make you look that much more thoughtful...Take that ratty college sweatshirt with the food stains, holes and tattered edges that you love but she hates and wrap it up. Give it to her and see the satisfaction as she rips it to shreds, burns it or drives over it repeatedly...For wordsmiths, tackle a few pages of "Naughty Crosswords" ($12.95 at Barnes & Noble). Make your own fortune Foretell your sweetie's future (with you in it, of course) by making your own fortune cookies. A few simple ingredients, a little time and lots of patience are the right ingredients.
Record your romance Show you're serious about her by penning your romance for all eternity. Buy "The Book of Us: A Journal of Your Love Story in 150 Questions" by David and Kate Marshall ($14.95 at Barnes & Noble). Answer the questions and have a record of your romance from first date to the years ahead. It's something you can do together...Buy a box of Peanuts Valentines and write a little something on each one. Scatter them around the house and send your love on a scavenger hunt. Show you care. Even if you could care less about Valentine's Day, take five minutes to let your partner in crime know you care about her... [liPublished]: February 13. 2007 3:10AM
